Trading Day Friday, July 31st

Hello Traders, Choppy, choppy, choppy day in the market today. It is just move around between points here. Started that day with an open almost exactly at yesterdays close at 982.25. Got to its low withing the first 40 minutes at 979.50. Moved sideways most of the day and reached its high at 990.50 30 minutes before close just to sell off in the last minutes and close at 983.50. It partially filled the gap from Thursday morning which is at 972.25 to close it. Hope you have a great weekend and always trade with stops.

Trading Day Thursday, July 30th

Hello Traders, Wow!! What an exciting market day today with a good bit of movement in both directions. The market started off with a 11.5 point gap to the upside to open at 983.75 and quickly reached its low of the day at 981.50 which did not close the gap but only made a minor dent in it. Within the first hour got to its high at 994.00 and move sideways into a "wedge" pattern. The last half hour of the day it broke thru the bottom of the wedge and headed back down to where it started to end the day at 982.50. One of the interesting things about the move down late in the day was the volume pickup as it did it. This morning volume move up was at 75K contracts in comparison to the move down which was at 85K contracts. Hum!! Looks like that gap is soon to be closed. We shall see what tomorrow brings. Trading Day Wednesday, July 29th

Hi Traders, Well we got a little different of a picture today than the last 2 days unfortunately we are still running over the same ground. Just about moving sideways for the last 3 days. We opened the day with a gap down at 969.50 a full 7 points lower than yesterdays close. Moved a bit lower for 10 minutes then turned around and got to the days high at 975.00. With all the sideways movement it put in a few lower highs and then made a bouble bottom near the low at 965.25. The last hour of the day just kept moving up to break the down trend and closed at 972.25. About 10 points in the range today. Have a great day and keep up the good trading.

Hi Friends, Well can anyone say "ditto". Oh my gosh today looks just like yesterday with just a few minor changes. The market gaped down and opened at 972.25 and immediately started to fill the gap. It got as high as 979.25 (2 ticks lower than yesterdays high) and then sank when the Comsumer Comfidence numbers came out. Hit the low more than an hour later at 966.00 and just made a steady march back up from there and ended the day at 976.50. 13 point trading range today. Hope you made some money and we will see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully a different picture anyway.

Trading Day Monday, July 27th

Hello Friends, Today was a pretty slow and steady move up day. We opened at 975.50 and sat in a small range until the New Home Sales numbers came out which sent the market to its high at 979.75 in about 5 minutes. Less than an hour later, we were down to our lows at 969.00. From there the market got into a nice little up trend and away were went to close near the high at 979.25. Here is the chart. Trading today opened at 967.25, down 5 points from yesterday's close. We hit the low of 962.60 mid morning and began our bullish rallies from there. We traded up to a high of 977.25 just before close today, giving us a intraday range of 14.75 points.

We did consolidate for a while this afternoon but broke out in the last 15 min before close, watching the aggressive buyers take control into the close. Today's close into the weekend was 976.00, another day with a higher close than open. (not including overnight trading)

The S&P 500 basically rallied all day. The market was being bought on any slow down. It is amazing to see these bullish rallies. Especially in the light of the earnings that came out after the market closed. Microsoft profit dropped 29% as consumer demand for PC's is dropping revenues causing shares to drop. Microsoft, American Express and Amazon were another three that reported after the close with negative effects. American Express is seeing pull backs on the payments by cardholders on top of dropping the available money to lend around 25% from one year ago.

Lots of traders still on the side lines, so there is some cash out there. Be careful holding into the close.
