Trading Day Thursday, August 6th

Hello Traders, Well today was an interesting day in the market. We started with a 4 point gap up to open at 1004.50 and within a few minutes reached the high of the day at 1005.75. It then went back to fill the gap and then some which eventually led to the low at 989.75. Developed a downtrend on the 5 min chart and closed still in that trend at 994.50. If you will look at a 60 minute chart it has closed below the 100 moving average that has been acting as support for the last few weeks. Tomorrow Unemployment figures are released before open so we will see how the market reacts to those. Have a good trading day.

Trading Day Monday, August 3rd

Hello Traders, Just an up, up and away Monday today. Opened with a full 10 point gap at 994 and retraced just to 988.75 which was also the low of the day. Then just kept marching its way up to hit the high at 1001. Took just a little bit of a dip and closed at 999.75. It has been a while since we have been at the 1000 mark. We will see what tomorrow brings. Remember to always trade with stops.

Today opened at 906.75, we hit our high of 907.75 in the first minute of trading and moved downward from there. Our low of 888.00 was hit only moments before close, while close came in at 888.50. Our range today was larger than recent days coming in at 19.25 points, while our gap from yesterday's close of 915.50 is still open.

Today opened at 907.75 only 6 ticks up from yesterday's close. With a quick dip to our low of 903.50 after open we headed up into the 913.50 area where we consolidated for the rest of the trading day, staying in a 4.5 point channel between 916.25 and 911.75. We managed to hit a intraday high of 917.75, but closed our day back at 912.00. Today's gap of 906.25 was filled shortly after open while our trading range for today was 14.25 points.

We opened at 938.75 today, 4 points down from yesterday's 942.75 close. We had most of our action today within the first 35-40min, yielding us our high (949.00), our low (936.75) and filling the gap. We spent the majority of the rest of the day trading a 7 point channel between 947.75 and 940.75.

Close came in today at 944.25 just 51/2 points up from open, while our total range for today's trading was 12.5 points. We still have an open gap from Friday back at 922.25.

Open today in at 892.00, 13.5 points down from yesterday's close. We moved down pretty consistently through the day to our low of 880.00 by 1:32. This afternoon gave us a couple small rallies that fell over, with a wicked chop that lasted our final hour of the day. We closed at 883.50 today, our high was 895.50 leaving us with an open gap of 905.50 from yesterday. Point of Control tomorrow is 889.25.

S&P 500 Day Trading Coarse Gap for May 6, 2009 learn how to trade

We opened today @ 912.25 after a big push up this morning just before open. (Over 10 pts in a 1min bar!) From open we immediately started on our decent to our intraday low of 901.25 @ 10:34 getting us close, but not close enough to fill the gap for today which waved good bye to us from it's 900.00 close yesterday. 

Point of Control today @ 904.25, which wasn't much of a battle ground as the aggressive buyers came in and took control after an hour and a half of squabbling. Making it's final appearance at 1:30, it went from there with steady higher lows all the way into today's close @ 915.00. We hit our intraday high of 917.25 twice, with one more bounce off the trend line into the overnight.
